The type of black rubber can be identified using the FT-IR/ATR method.

Black rubber containing carbon black cannot be analyzed using FT-IR/transmission method due to its absorption of infrared light. By using the ATR method with a germanium prism, FT-IR spectra can be obtained, allowing for the identification of the type of black rubber.
